Structure and Content of the Program
Overall, the web-based self-study program includes
- a roughly 45-minute video for each of the 16 interaction frequencies
- downloadable work materials and exercise sheets
- various knowledge tests and exercises
- if needed and desired, Tutor Talks via ZOOM or by phone (billed separately at €72 plus statutory VAT per started quarter hour)
- support from the SCIL Profile team during regular office hours (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM)

*Note on gender-inclusive language
Gender-inclusive language is currently being debated quite heatedly in some quarters. It is not yet foreseeable how the language will change and what will prevail. In March 2021, the Council for German Orthography published the following statement: “The gender asterisk will not be officially recognized for the time being.” For this reason, and also in the interest of readability, we have refrained from marking our texts with a gender asterisk or spelling out all gender-inclusive forms at every point. We respect all people equally, regardless of gender, skin color, or sexual orientation. In some places we use only the feminine form and in others the masculine form.
